'Nuri'

I spotted a beautiful 'Nuri' while visiting the KL Bird Park. The different layers of colors, abstract yet very beautifully structured instantly inspired me. I sketched this piece to translates the unique beauty of the bird (even though nothing can beat the perfection of God's creations). 'Nuri' is a Malay word for parrot.

Below is my sketch of 'Nuri'. And below the sketch is the finished actual piece, made for a Client who wants to wear it as a 'jubah', or long dress. With its many layers of patterns, minimal accessories are needed to carry this piece in sheer elegance. This piece was done on Crepe Silk.

'Morowa'

Top here is 'Morowa' in Green. This is designed to be a long top/tunic. To be worn over pants. Or, if preferred, can be a short dress. Recommended on Crepe Silk or Chiffon Silk.

At the last minute, the customer changed the color to Lime Green to fit the wedding theme that this piece is meant to be worn at. Below is the finished product, front and back view.

'Bunga'

'Bunga' is among the first few sketches I did. It was more of a try-outs but it was materialised, based on a request.

Shown here done on Chiffon Silk to be worn as a top.

'Rayyan'

'Rayyan' carries a different meaning in different languages. Here, Rayyan means 'fragrant, sweet-scented'. I designed this for my sister-in-law and she is just as how the name suggests. The layers of its petals are differentiated by different colors; very contrast but works harmoniously together. The black background enhances the beauty of this piece.

This piece was done on Chiffon Silk as a tunic. It can also be done on Crepe, for less transparent look.

On the left is the sketch, and on the right is the piece, materialised.

'Cattleya'

'Cattleya' was designed with my beautiful mother in mind. Rare, precious and beautiful, the Cattleya orchids are a soft yet tough plant that are able to handle a wide variety of conditions and still thrive, grow and produce beautiful large flowers season after season for many years; just like my mother.

I designed this as a long dress
. Wear it with minimal accessories and perhaps sew some sequins or beads onto it, it can be worn to a formal function and make you look absolutely stunning!

On the left is the sketch and right is the final product. Most recommended on Chiffon.

'Otieno'

Inspired by African tribal motifs, 'Otieno' was designed for a modern and eccentric individuals. Colors combination is important for this design as it will brings out the best of the motifs. Best to use bold, contrasting colors. The dress can be worn as it is for a casual look or could add some sequins or beads on the neckline for a more chic look -- but still suitable for daytime wear.
This style is recommended on Crepe Silk.

Below is another style with this design. Just to show the many ways of having the motifs in a style that you prefer. This particular piece has been materialised into actual piece, in Lime Green as per the photo next to it.
