'Rainbow'

This is my very first piece and how it all started. I was 5 months pregnant, and I needed something to wear to a friend's wedding and still wants to maintain my style but nothing existing could fit me. So I started making this piece and it turned out great! I received a lot of compliments and actually received some orders! So, I continued sketching other pieces from then on.

This piece was named 'Rainbow' to signify a lot of things that a rainbow has -- vibrant colors, beauty and doesn't come easy. And with this inspiration, I decided on the name Ilham for my baby. Alana means beautiful and I could feel how my baby made me feel beautiful inside out and that's how the name Alana Ilham came about. And Alana Ilham (my little princess) was born on January 12th, 2010 to complete my life.

This piece was done on Crepe Silk as a long dress.

'Chess'

The name says it -- Chess; carries a checkered patterns around the body. The patterns stretches to the back. This is one way of doing it. Maybe, the patterns could also go across vertically or horizontally. Or just a bit on the sides. Will try other ways soon.

Below is the picture of the finished product, front and back view. Done on Crepe Silk here.

'Disco'

The Client requested for a piece with no specific type of patterns. But, she is the disco queen in her youth days; the 80's. So, to match her personality (and to relive her youth), I designed 'Disco' for her.

This is designed as a short dress but can be worn over a pants as a tunic.
The colorful circles symbolises the spinning disco lights. Matching colorful lines are drawn to create borders on the bottom and end of sleeves. Seen here on Chiffon Silk.

'Nuri'

I spotted a beautiful 'Nuri' while visiting the KL Bird Park. The different layers of colors, abstract yet very beautifully structured instantly inspired me. I sketched this piece to translates the unique beauty of the bird (even though nothing can beat the perfection of God's creations). 'Nuri' is a Malay word for parrot.

Below is my sketch of 'Nuri'. And below the sketch is the finished actual piece, made for a Client who wants to wear it as a 'jubah', or long dress. With its many layers of patterns, minimal accessories are needed to carry this piece in sheer elegance. This piece was done on Crepe Silk.

'Morowa'

Top here is 'Morowa' in Green. This is designed to be a long top/tunic. To be worn over pants. Or, if preferred, can be a short dress. Recommended on Crepe Silk or Chiffon Silk.

At the last minute, the customer changed the color to Lime Green to fit the wedding theme that this piece is meant to be worn at. Below is the finished product, front and back view.

'Bunga'

'Bunga' is among the first few sketches I did. It was more of a try-outs but it was materialised, based on a request.

Shown here done on Chiffon Silk to be worn as a top.

'Rayyan'

'Rayyan' carries a different meaning in different languages. Here, Rayyan means 'fragrant, sweet-scented'. I designed this for my sister-in-law and she is just as how the name suggests. The layers of its petals are differentiated by different colors; very contrast but works harmoniously together. The black background enhances the beauty of this piece.

This piece was done on Chiffon Silk as a tunic. It can also be done on Crepe, for less transparent look.

On the left is the sketch, and on the right is the piece, materialised.
